On Friday, August 17 and Saturday, August 18, the
Fox Cities Performing Arts Center will launch the 2012/13 10th Anniversary Season with a free
Open House for the public. Festivities will include live entertainment, backstage tours, theater workshops and activities for all ages. Refreshments will be provided for a limited time on Friday and complimentary Culver's custard will be offered Saturday, while supplies last. Maria Van Laanen, the Center's executive vice president, said, "The impetus for this Open House was a desire to say 'thank you' to the people of the Fox Cities and Northeast Wisconsin. Local support and interest in the performing arts is what lead us to achieve such a degree of success in this first decade. Our community's enthusiasm for the arts is awe-inspiring, and we are very grateful."
OPENING NIGHT - Friday, August 17 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
After a special mayoral proclamation on Friday, August 17 at 5:30 p.m., the Center will host a discussion panel of founders sharing how the dream of building a community performing arts center became a reality in the Fox Cities. Later, entertainment will include TC Dance Club International leading ballroom dance lessons onstage and live music from Big Mouth & The Power Tool Horns.
FAMILY DAY - Saturday, August 18 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
On Saturday, August 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the Center will have activities for the whole family to enjoy including live entertainment, backstage tours, theater workshops for ages 13+ and hands-on activities for younger children. At 11:30 a.m. all eyes will be on the Main Lobby as attendees create a
