10th Anniversary Signature Event
BBC CONCERT ORCHESTRA
The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center is pleased to present the BBC Concert Orchestra in a one-of-a-kind 10th Anniversary Signature Event. Principal Conductor Keith Lockhart, also of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, has selected a program featuring works by Elgar, Britten and Butterworth and paired it with a guest performance by a talented young cello soloist named Sophie Shao.

In addition to the performance, the audience will hear the premiere of an original musical introduction composed by Appleton's own Maury Laws. Laws is the creative mind behind the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center's "Fanfare" which calls audiences to their seats prior to every performance. His distinguished career in the music industry includes many high profile performers and familiar shows including, "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer."

Versatility is the BBC Concert Orchestra's hallmark. From classical music to Broadway show tunes to a new work by Composer in Association Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead fame, the orchestra is known as "serious musicians with a sense of humor." The orchestra's commitment to BBC Radio 2 is legendary. They have been delivering the world's longest-running music show, "Friday Night is Music Night," every week for an astonishing 60 years and have also provided the soundtrack to many BBC TV programs, including "The Blue Planet," "Frozen Planet," "Walking with Dinosaurs" and "ZingZillas." Tickets start at $35.

L.A. Theatre Works'
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
This year marks the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice," one of the most acclaimed and still strikingly modern works of British literature. This classic romantic comedy's tempestuous pairing of the witty, independent Elizabeth and the arrogant, but honorable, suitor, Mr. Darcy, sets the standard for all great couples of the stage and screen.

Leading the impeccable cast will be stage and screen veterans, Jane Carr and Nicholas Hormann. L.A. Theatre Works' superlative company of actors brings Christina Calvit's stunning adaptation of Pride and Prejudice to life. L.A. Theatre Works has been the foremost radio theater company in the United States for more than two decades, broadcast in America on NPR stations, streamed online at latw.org and aired internationally on the BBC, CBC, and many other English language networks.

The company records the majority of its productions annually in Los Angeles. On the road, L.A. Theatre Works has delighted audiences with its unique live radio theater style performances filled with a first-rate cast, live sound effects, and a connection to the audience rarely felt in a traditional theater setting. For more information, visit latw.org. Tickets start at $20.

L.A. Theatre Works' Pride and Prejudice is locally supported by AZCO INC. and Hand to Shoulder Center of Wisconsin. Both performances are part of the Boldt Arts Alive! Series, which is supported by the title sponsor, The Boldt Company.
